Clef Notes: My Family

I’m so blessed to say that I come from a large family who all support and love each other unconditionally.  We’re a tight-knit group that would go above and beyond for each other no questions asked. When we’re able to all get together it’s constant laughter, dancing, singing and tears of joy.

The inspiration of this post comes from a family gathering from two weeks ago. For many people, family visits could be stressful.  Maybe there’s some tension between two or more people, drama within the group, etc. When this crew gets together… better have on your dancing shoes and a good sense of humor (I can guarantee everyone there WILL get roasted!).

There are 6 kids in my immediate family, with 9 nieces and nephews (one of which is a GREAT NIECE!).  Geographically, there are a few of us that don’t live close to home.  Unfortunately the whole group can’t get together very frequently.  We’re a musical bunch… come to think of it our parents could have created the next Partridge family or something. We start playing music and it’s automatically a dance party… sooner or later someone puts on Whitney Houston and it’s karaoke time. Next comes the tears, because we’re all emotional saps (there may have been some alcohol involved). So there we were, with nothing more than a Bluetooth speaker and someone’s smart phone, singing, dancing, laughing and crying on my sisters back porch.

My heart was so happy after spending the night with my family I had to write about it. I hope that everyone has a chance to spend quality time with their loved ones in the near future!

XOXO
